Overall & Female Champion, Robbie Jackson - Rigghead Reserve Overall Champion & Male Champion, J Simpson & S Shirt - Back Tor Reserve Female Champion, H Jewitt - Sunnybank

The weather held in Harrogate at the Great Yorkshire Show Ground as this year’s Dutch Spotted Sheep National Show was judged by Liam Campbell, Glencloy. A brilliant show of stock was presented from both seasoned and new exhibitors. After much deliberation, it was the Royal Highland Show Champion, Barqhuill Faith, exhibited by Robbie Jackson, who was tapped forward as the 2023 National Show Champion.

Reserve Champion was awarded to Male Champion and first prize ram lamb, Back Tor Gunner, from J Simpson & S Shirt. Gunner is sired by Diamond Fandabbydozy and out of Tiptop Diamond. J Simpson & S Shirt also achieved Reserve Male Champion with their second-place ram lamb, Back Tor Godzilla. Out of another Tiptop ewe, Easy Girl, Godzilla is sired by Mount Pleasant Freeze who was purchased at the Premier Sale in August 2022.

Reserve Female Champion went to Mr Henry Jewitt, Sunnybank flock, for his first prize ewe lamb, Sunnybank Good 4 U. With full Diamond bloodlines, being sired by 28,000gns Diamond Fireball and out of Diamond ELizah, Good 4 U is no stranger to success in the show ring.
