Overall Champion, Elite Iskra
At the last Carlisle Society Sale of the year, it was once again Lara Reid, Elite, came out on top, with her third Championship in a row at this years society sales. Elite Iskra, first place ewe lamb, was tapped out as champion by judge Iwan Davies, Cysgod Flock and later went for the top price of the day at 4,000gns to Messrs Cornish, Devon. Iskra is a Diamond Gypsy King daughter and a paternal brother to the Summer Selection Male & Overall Champion, Elite Invictus.
Reid’s second place ewe lamb also gained a lot of interest, Elite Irona, a Diamond Freaky Freddie and Elite Frisky daughter, was sold to Messrs Davies, Dyfed for 1,600gns.
Second top price of the day went to Barquhill Hana (ET), a shearling gimmer from Westbroad Diego, from M & R McCornick and was sold to Messrs Stanford, Leicestershire for 2,500gns.
The third top price of the day went to the first prize shearling gimmer and reserve overall champion from N Brown, Irthing Valley High Maintenance. High Maintenance was part of Nick’s show team and is in-lamb to Cannon Hall Hellbound, she went to Messrs Hunt, Cumbria for 1,800gns.
Once again Carlisle, gained a lot of interest from breeders from all over the country, with exhibits from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with a variety of pedigrees for buyers to choose from.
