Rachel joins the Dutch Spotted Sheep Society as Breed Secretary

The Dutch Spotted Sheep Society are delighted to announce the new breed secretary, Rachel Buckle joining the Society as of 1st July 2025. 

Rachel lives near Lanark, Scotland with her partner Jimmy Bell, together they farm the Cottage flock of crossing Leicester’s, alongside Swaledale ewes producing North of England Mule ewe lambs, Beltex and commercial Mule and Texel cross ewes.

Rachel comes with a wealth of sheep Breed Society knowledge, from working for the Beltex Sheep Society and Swaledale Sheep Breeders Association, aswell as being past registrations secretary for the Dutch Spotted Sheep Society and was integral in the work involved with bringing the two DSS societies together a few years ago.

Rachel’s interests outwith Society work seem to be all about sheep and is a respected judge of many sheep breeds throughout England, Scotland and Northern and Southern Ireland, and in 2024 judged the Irish National Dutch Spotted Show at Finn Valley in Donegal.
