Northern Ireland Dutch Spotted Regional Group – Fatstock Show & Sale Report

The Northern Ireland Dutch Spotted Regional Group proudly hosted their Fatstock Show & Sale, held at Ballymena Market on Wednesday 11^th June 2025 with a strong turn-out of commercial and pure bred lambs.

Kicking off the day with judging, Mr Derek Frew of Barrs Butchers, Ballymena got stuck into the pens and carefully selected his placings of each class. Derek was impressed with the quality throughout the pens and had a tough decision on his hands.

Sale Highlights

Trade was strong, with both commercial and pure-bred lambs selling consistently. The top price per kilo reached an impressive £9.05, and the average sale price came in at £6.80/kg.
