Ewe lambs: Top price - 2nd prize lamb, Lot 441 from Lochlad Farming Partnership - 3500gns, 1st prize Lot 430 from Mr A Jackson - 2000gns Lot 427 from Hayley Clarke - 1800gns.

History has been made at The 2019 Great Yorkshire Show where Ali Jackson's imported ewe Hannah of Tiptop was crowned Supreme Interbreed Champion. A remarkable success that sent shock waves through pedigree sheep breeders.

We were delighted to see both returning customers and also many new faces joining us.
Topping the sale and the In Lamb entries was lot 268A from the Ty-Gwyn flock of Mr Brian Davies and Miss Louise Davies.
Scanned with twins to Gallowhill Balblair, the shearling was purchased for 3600gns by Miss Sian Jordan and will be joining her Penrith Low Fauld Flock.
Topping the Ewe Lambs were the UK born lots 269 & 270 from Rob & Vicky Grinnall’s Beech Hay flock who both sold for 1600gns.

INAUGURAL BREED SALE REPORT
The much-anticipated inaugural breed sale for Dutch Spotted Sheep did not disappoint last Friday at H&H, Borderway Mart Carlisle.
With a 92% clearance rate, packed sales ring and top price of 3500gns the sale has been deemed a massive success for this fledgling breed and society.
The show, kindly sponsored by Solway Recycling and judged by Messrs. Hall, preluded the sale.
Standing as champion was ‘Bullseye’ a Belgium imported Aged Ram from Ali Jackson - Tiptop flock. (Sold for 3000gns)
Reserve champion was ‘Atomic’ a Dutch imported shearling ram from Messrs. Parker - Lochlad flock. (Sold for 2200gns)
Heading the sale ring was the UK bred winning ram lamb Damson Bailey from Megan Rowlandson who sold for 3500gns to Richard Barber-Fleming and will be joining his Castle Douglas based ‘Top Of The Spots’ flock.

IMPORTANT RULE CHANGES TO MV SCHEME IN 2019
2.5.2 Non-MV/CAE accredited animal screen
If non-MV/CAE accredited animals are kept on the same holding(s) as MV/CAE accredited animals at every RPBT a female cull screen of 12 non-MV/CAE accredited animals must be performed.
4.1.2 Adding MV/CAE accredited animals to an MV/CAE accredited
All MV/CAE accredited animals added to an MV/CAE accredited flock/herd must be tested between 6 and 12 months after arrival.
4.1.3 Imported Animals
Imported animals accredited under a non-UK scheme must be kept isolated until authorisation is given by the PSGHS vet to add them to the MV/CAE accredited flock.
4.1.4 Imported semen/embryos
Imported semen/embryos from animals accredited under a non-UK scheme must not be used/implanted in MV/CAE accredited animals until authorisation is given by the PSGHS vet.

can look up member details, animal details, pedigrees, progeny lists and search for animals for sale.

Members will be able to do online registration, notification of transfers and deaths.
CONSTITUTION ALTERATION 3rd Sept 2017
After guidance from DEFRA it has been agreed by the trustees that a small alteration to our constitution shall be made regarding our dispute procedures. This can be found under section 26.DISPUTES of any copies of the constitution published post 03/09/2017
The change can be emailed to members if requested.
BREED STANDARD ALTERATION
Our breed standard shall now read:
Tail docking is optional, but care must be taken to make sure the vulva is covered as the animal matures.
